KRISHA SIKKA

A collection of my previous work and design

ABOUT

Hi! My name is Krisha, and I am currently a sophomore at USC. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1) Cinema and Media Studies and 2) Journalism.

Since, I was young, I have always been interested in the role of media in disseminating information. I was also weirdly fascinated in how media can be used to bring people together worldwide. When I was about nine-years-old, I decided to create my first Wix website centered on the new knitting looms that my dad had purchased for me from Toy’s R Us. I wanted to create a gallery for my work for everyone to access and was so excited to share it with others. Even though I basically had no viewers, I now felt that I had the power of connection simply accessible through my computer.

I have continued down the path of using media as a storytelling tool and a mechanism to reach large audiences. In 2020, my friend and I collaborated on creating a podcast called Gen-Z: Our World to Follow or Flip, which I elaborate on in this website. Its main goal was to center a Gen-Z perspective when discussing political and social issues, especially during the pandemic. A couple years later, I also created Shuno with Jaago, which was created to foster discussions between sexual assault resource facilitators.

In college, I continue to learn more about the media in various classes and extracurriculars. I am a Communications Assistant with the USC Pullias Center, which is the school of education’s higher education initiative. I also have taken classes such as JOUR 206: Reporting and Writing Practicum to learn more about the ins and outs of a productive newsroom.

Thank you for reading about me! Feel free to look around to read and learn more about my previous and current work!
